Nothing is set in stone until a day in early February when the faxed letters of commitment start printing off at the Woody Hayes Athletic Centerl  But it is clear right now that OSU is in the running to have a very good year in recruiting along the offensive line.  Mike Adams, Isaac Anderson, J.B. Shugarts and Mike Brewster have already verbally committed.

ONN’s Buckeye Blitz television program reported Wednesday that OSU will be taking a visit from the nation’s top offensive line prospects, Josh Jenkins, this weekend out of Parkersburg West Virginia.  He has already give a verbal committment to the Mountaineers, but their recent performance and the fact that OSU will be playing in the BCS National Championship Game gives us a shot at him if he likes the campus.

The incoming folks along the offensive line are so good that Shawntel Rowell, a top offensive lineman from Cleveland Glenville has yet to get an offer of scholarship from OSU.  As far as getting Rowell too, much depends upon whether certain players leave early or not and whether other players commit to us.

The importance of the offensive line could not be clearer after OSU’s performance this season.  This was predicted to be a rebuilding season at OSU by those looking only at the (so called) skill positions of QB and WR.  But what they neglected to look at was the talent and experience along the offensive line which means everything for an offense.  If all of these new recruits currently committed to OSU stay with us, the Offensive line will be in excellent shape for the next four to five years.
