It appears that after starting the year as backup QB, Robbie Schoenhoft may be moving to Tight End. He has the size at 6-6 and 255, and he certainly has the speed, enough so that he has been working on the scout team at that position trying to help the OSU Defense get a look at what opposing TEs might do.
With the success of OSU starting QB Todd Boeckman this year, his ability to steer clear of injury, and his committment to returning for more of the same for his senior year, this did not leave much room for Schoenhoft to see the field as a QB. Couple that with the re-emergence of third string QB Antonio Henton after charges of soliciting prostitution were plea bargained down to loitering and the possibility that Terrelle Pryor might be coming to OSU and the handwriting was on the wall.
Coach Tressel has not confirmed the switch, but a talk with players on the team provides some pretty sound indications. Schoenhoft’s roommate, WR Brian Hartline, said that it all depended upon what Robbie wanted to do. If he embraced the switch, it would be made. Schoenhoft is such a team guy that it is hard to imagine him not going where the team needs him.
As a TE, Schoenhoft could provide something of an X factor on reverses, providing a throwing option if too much of the defense is sucked in.

Two turnovers at home and Penn State only scores 17 points? And then they say “We’re back!”?
It will take more than a video of a game from 2005 to beat OSU this year. Though, after we beat Penn State, you can still watch your video and imagine what might have been, if it makes you feel better.
