And so we learn that Rich Rodriguez will be the new coach at Michigan.  Nice of him to announce the decision before the WVA bowl game.  Another nice thing is that he won’t have to change his colors from blue and yellow.  All of his wardrobe will still work.  He just has to take off the logos.

Rodriguez has a nice record at West Virginia, but the three straight good years came after the Miami Hurricanes and Virginia Tech left the Big East.

It’s always exciting to bring in a new coach.  But Michigan should not expect much out of its team in the coming two years.  There are always growing pains as the athletes recruited to play under one system have to change over to another.  Even Jim Tressel had a one year issue with this.

Of course, in his second year, he won it all.
