Much depended upon whether Chris Wells woke up sore this morning. Unfortunately for college football fans, Wells’ foot was sore, worse than the OSU coaching staff would have hoped. Coach Tressel has accordingly listed him as doubtful.
He will surely be making the trip and almost certainly dressing for the game (though that too remains a game day decision). But the likelihood is that we will need Boom Herron, Brandon Saine, and Maurice Wells to step up and get us some yards in the running game. The good thing is that Herron has looked good up the middle and around the edges. Brandon Saine is now finally back to 100% after suffering through an injury during spring and fall camps, and Maurice Wells was effective when he got to the outside last week.
This means that the OSU offensive line is going to really have to concentrate on getting pancake blocks whenever possible and wearing these guys down along the defensive front. We may see Terrelle Pryor brought in to do some broken field plays as USC has shown a weakness of late at stopping mobile QBs.
But most Buckeye fans are sanguine about our chances with out our star running back, Heisman trophy candidate, and a team leader.

Two turnovers at home and Penn State only scores 17 points? And then they say “We’re back!”?
It will take more than a video of a game from 2005 to beat OSU this year. Though, after we beat Penn State, you can still watch your video and imagine what might have been, if it makes you feel better.
