As things started to get out of hand in the second half, Bob Griese took the stage and ripped Tressel for his poor handling of former OSU quarterback, Todd Boeckman. Even when interrupted by his fellow commentator, Griese quickly resumed the tirade and made it clear that he thought that Tressel had not treated Boeckman fairly and had failed to use him to the team’s advantage throughout the season. Griese went so far as to say that OSU could have had a different result against Penn State if Boeckman would have played.
Even as a non-OSU fan, I have to agree with Griese and feel sorry for how Boeckman was treated. A fifth year senior, elected team caption, and all Big Ten player who had led his team (deservedly or not) to two national title games should not have been benched so early in the season. And he should not have been given such a limited role throughout the rest of the season.
Lucky for Pryor that he faced a very weak Big Ten conference schedule, save for Penn State. At this stage of the game, he doesn’t even faintly resemble Pat White, Daryll Clark, or a Vince Young. I’ve noticed Buckeye commentators gloating about his passing efficiency but the guy only throws 8-9 passes a game. If OSU faces a decent bowl team, they and Pryor will get crushed.

Two turnovers at home and Penn State only scores 17 points? And then they say “We’re back!”?
It will take more than a video of a game from 2005 to beat OSU this year. Though, after we beat Penn State, you can still watch your video and imagine what might have been, if it makes you feel better.
