Denard finished with 337 yards.

More interesting is when is the last time Ohio State allowed two 100 yard rushers in the same Michigan game. Denard had 170 yards and Fitzgerald Toussaint had 120 yards in the 2011 version. Toussaint was the first back to rush for more than 100 yards against the Buckeyes since 2006. When is the last time, Ohio State allowed two 100 yard rushers in the same game? I’ll research it and see what I can come up with.

Jamie Morris holds the record for the longest run against Ohio State of 52 yards. Toussaint came close with a 46 yarder and Robinson popped off a 41 yarder.

Ohio State also allowed both Robinson and Toussaint to reach the 1000 yards rushing mark for the season. Wonder when the last time that happened – two rushers eclipsed 1000 yards for the season during the Ohio State game.подаръци

Still smarting from Michigan’s 1995 beatdown of Ohio State, Eddie George went out on a limb and predicted Northwestern to upset Michigan in last night’s game at Evanston. Perhaps George still subscribes to his former teammate’s, Terry Glenn’s, assessment of Michigan, “Michigan is nothing!”
George claimed that Northwestern is difficult to beat at night especially at home. He also stated that he didn’t have faith in Michigan’s defense. Perhaps George is a believer now as Michigan shut-out Dan Persa and the Mildcats in the second half. In fact, he should have been believing since 1995 when he was eliminated from having an impact on the outcome of Ohio State-Michigan matchup then. Somehow he still managed to win the Heisman despite Biakabatuka racking up 313 yards to his measly 103.
As a college football analyst, George needs take a cue from Kirk Herbstreit and learn to check his bias at the door. Old wounds may run too deep for the overrated running back/analyst to do so. Nebraska’s come from behind beat-down of Ohio State may only motivate George to continue picking against Michigan for the rest of the year. Until he gets over his Michigan bias, George will continue to be a non-factor as an analyst just like he was as a player.

Shortly after Mark Dantonio announced that he “was just trying to keep up with big brother”, little brother, Chris L. Rucker (the “L” is for Little Bro), was arrested for driving while intoxicated as reported by The Detroit News:

A probation officer has recommended that Michigan State senior cornerback Chris L. Rucker spend 21 days in jail for violating terms of his sentence for an assault last year, according to court documents.Rucker, of Warren, Ohio, was on probation after pleading guilty to assault and battery stemming from an incident last fall at a Michigan State University residence hall. Rucker and several teammates were involved in an altercation that led to 11 players being suspended for the Spartans’ bowl game and two players being dismissed from the team.

According to court documents, Rucker violated two orders of his probation, including purchasing, possessing or consuming alcohol or illegal drugs. … Rucker has until Oct. 20 to appear in 54-B District Court in East Lansing for his arraignment. A determination on a jail sentence could be made at that time.

Permascowl Dantonio indicated that Rucker would be suspended for only one game; however, if the judge follows the probation officer’s recommendation Little Brother Rucker could miss up to three games while in jail.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch!

ESPNU coverage of the Michigan – Indiana game was absolutely abysmal. When I watch the game again, I may count how many plays we missed the beginning of because of their in-game updates and other bs. More frustrating may have been the lack of replays. There were several penalties that occurred and ESPNU provided no replays to see what had happened. At the end of the game, Taylor Lewan was called for a personal foul and we saw none of what happened.

Here’s what led up to the penalty. Watch Lewan pull off the rare double pancake block (he’s #77 lined up at left guard). Absolutely exquisite! It looks like he is matched up on a defensive back or linebacker and just shows incredible reaction time to the snap. He’s in the Indiana defender’s face immediately and piles drives him several yards towards the end zone. Lewan shoves him into #6 (Richard Council, I believe) and gets a two for one.

Just Gorgeous! I’m sure one of the Indiana defenders tried to trip Lewan as he got up to congratulate DRob. Apparently, Lewan reacted to that and drew the penalty.

Here’s another beautiful play but on defense this time. Mike Martin fights through a double team (actually it appears that #70, Justin Pagan, whiffs on double teaming Martin) and rides Ben Chappell back for a huge sack! How did Chappell hold on to the ball? The officials gave Indiana a favorable spot and they only lost about 16 yards on the play instead of 24. You can see why Martin is All Big Ten caliber here. I believe that’s Indiana’s starting center, Will Matte (#60), who has to finally battle mano-a-mano against Martin and it’s no match. Martin easily pushes him aside and gets to Chappell.

Maybe a four man front should be considered to give Martin more one on ones?
